Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
So finally, after oh, eight years in Waterloo, we finally went and saw fireworks at Columbia Lake this year. And since Canada Day was on Tuesday this year and we technically had to work on Monday, we decided to head back to Waterloo early. Mike then spontaneously decided to have a BBQ, which I think was really an excuse to make us finally get around to spring cleaning. Yes, it’s been nearly a month since we came back from China, and still not quite back into the groove of things. And don’t talk to me about the photos… I’m thinking about creating a photo book actually, maybe this weekend I’ll finally have some time to look into it. I might use Blurb or Lulu.
But back to topic, the fireworks were actually quite decent. I love how we could just hop on our bikes at like 9:30, get to Columbia Lake and find a great spot, just in time for it to start shortly after 10 pm. We barely had time to set up the camera and tripod though, and I gave Mike the camera since he’s more into the technical aspects of taking fireworks pictures. It’s really too bad that fireworks only happens a few times a year cause we really could use more practice. I was fairly impressed with them, mostly cause they lasted a decent while, and it was really close. So what if it’s not synced to music, I’ll have to head to TO hours in advanced to stake out a spot if I wanted to get as close as I did there. So yeah, I think I’ll definitely go back and watch it again if I’m around in the future.
Other random notes:
- Been playing Wii Fit lately, the balance games are fun, but I’m not sure how my posture is improving with the other stuff as I do weird contortions to keep the stupid dot in the circle…
- Catching on some summer movies by watching Wall-E and Wanted. Will prolly wait for Hulk, Iron Man, Indy 4 and Narnia. Do plan on seeing Dark Knight though.
- Currently wasting too much time playing “World Ends with You” on the DS
- No, I’m not fluent in Mandarin now, but I think I can understand a lot more. And I exchange emails in Chinese with my mom now. In very bad Chinese.
