Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
Yup, it has finally caught up with me. With all my online shopping, I’ve never gotten into the whole eBay thing. I created an account over 4 years ago to buy one thing (a comic book no less) and that was it. At the time, I thought it was way too insecure, but it was a small item that I paid with mail order (whoa..), so it wasn’t overly dangerous. How things have changed since then…
And so I’ve recently started looking into the Star Wars lightsabers from Master Replicas, yes, the $100+ ones they sell at Futureshop and Bestbuy. You can find used and slightly damaged on eBay for a fraction of the price, and fixing them sounds almost as fun as hitting Mike with it.. Mind you, I think I suck at bidding. I’m looking specifically for the Anakin blue one, and there was this whole slew of damaged ones on sale tonight. I tried bidding for three, and all I managed to do was jack up the price for the winners.. Still, the whole process is strangely mesmerizing and entertaining, watching the clock count down, watching how you get outbid in the last 30 secs…
Still, I’m now the proud owner of a cow-pattern stovetop cappuccino maker, at least, I will be on Friday (thanks Matt!). Sigh, I’m such a sucker for novelty items.
Though Mike *did* drag me out of bed at 7:30 am Saturday morning just so he can be one of the first 300 customers to be at Sears to get a $20 off $100 coupon so he can get his Plasmacluster air purifier, thus subjecting some poor asthma-striken child and her family to a long wait for the next available rainchecked unit, as we carried off the last unit on the shelves at 8:30 in the morning so Mike can read his book under the bedside lamp without seeing flicks of dust frolicking in the air.
And I ended up with two pairs of fuzzy-wuzzy socks just so I can make my $50 quota to make use of my $10 off $50 coupon. Mmm, fuzzy-wuzzy socks..
Yes, mine is a consumer driven household…
