Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

Team Building Events

So the middle-tier went paintballing in Kitchener today, at the “The Paintball Arena”. Just 16 of us for the entire place, so didn’t play other strangers. It reminded me why I’m not so fond of the activity. I just don’t have the competitive/testosterone drive to succeed. My instinct is still to hide and stay where I am. When I do run around, I get eliminated pretty quickly. On the other hand, when I hide, I end up being like the last person on the team, and I get ambushed or something, or watch as the other team wins.. One guy got shot in the nuts right when he had his arm in the air in surrender, all exposed.. I guess I didn’t *not* enjoy myself, I was just reminded why paintball isn’t my kind of activity.

Then over the week, we got Cabol addicted to the Hong Kong Mahjong game. A couple of people came over on Tues and we played a few rounds. Then my roommates played a complete game today. Finished at 1 AM. Since there were only three of us, we took out the tiles to a suite, and it worked out. Except it was so easy to get the same suite. Mike won two 8 point games almost back to back, and bankrupted us all. Boo!
