Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
I don’t usually do any major traveling in the summer. Too hot, too many people, and too expensive. This summer kinda sucked because of the weather, and Mike disappearing for 4 weeks. Last weekend truly felt like the start of fall though. We were camping at Bruce Peninsula National Park, and it was really wet and cold. Then on the bike ride to work, I think I notice leaves already changing colours. This is good, as I happen to like fall, and I think we will get less rain.
We stayed pretty local otherwise. Did some cycling, visited Ottawa, visited two national parks in Ontario. Couple of BBQ’s. Mmm, lamb chops…
Around the house, we updated our flooring, battled the weeds in the backyard (and lost).
Tried growing herbs indoors. The rosemary and parsley are still going strong. The basil was doing great (used it the most) but then got infected somehow (don’t think it’s aphids, but some other really small bug) and it started turning brown, so it went into the garbage. The Vietnamese coriander, we’ve never harvested at all, half of the leaves are brown, but it’s still not completely dead. The aphids-infected jalapeno plant that was booted to the backyard deck and left to its own devices (to die), surprisingly yielded a single little bright red pepper. Are we suppose to pick it before it turns red? What the heck would we do with one jalapeno anyways?
Plans for fall? Maybe hike the Adirondacks again for the fall colours. And maybe finish the next Professor Layton game.
