Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

Police Chase and May Mayhem!

May 02, 2006, 10:52 pm

I’ve always wondered how the police go about chasing down speeders. You always only see them pulled over on the side with their victim already caught, or they are zooming by you, in rapid pursue of someone far ahead of you. I’ve never really seen the entire process of them radaring someone, and then chasing them down, from start to finish. Until today! We were on Westmount on the way home, and then suddenly we saw this police car come zooming out of an intersection, almost out of nowhere. I was wondering why it made the turn so fast, and then noticed that it’s lights were on, but no siren. It took down a minivan that was just ahead of us, and we were close enough to see the whole thing. Not that we were in any danger of getting caught ourselves of course, if the van hadn’t been there first… rasberry

Victoria Weekend Plans

May is turning into quite the busy month. This weekend, going to help Jerry move into his new place on Sat, the ultimate league that I joined with Rachelle and Jerry is starting on the Sunday, and I think Mike Ma is also coming up to Loo to visit on Sunday. He will be around for about a week. Weekend after that (13th and 14th), I’m scheduled for meeting up with high school friends, Jenn’s birthday, and hopefully that would be the same dinner for Mike as well. But then then 14th is also my dad’s birthday AND Mother’s Day, and so hopefully my parents won’t decide to celebrate a day early on the Sat to beat the crowd.

Next weekend (20th and 21st) is Victoria Day long weekend, and Jerry’s itching to go somewhere. Since the Tulip Festival in Ottawa is ending that weekend, I figured it’s a good time to go and visit KD, and see the flowers as well. Granted, the tulip festival starts this weekend, so really the ideal time to go should be the 2nd weekend, and the last weekend would be pretty crowded with it being a holiday, but really, not enough time to fit it in. Thinking of just driving up Friday evening (might even be late on Friday cause of the traffic), and hanging out for the weekend, hopefully crashing at KD’s place or at Rachelle’s if she wants to go back that weekend.

Plans for that weekend is still tentative. Since Ottawa is pretty much four hours away, I think I can afford to be pretty spontaneous. There’s no hotels to book, no cars to rent, so it should be relatively hassle-free. Baring really bad weather, or last minute finance stuff that I’ll need for *my* move, this is pretty much the plan for the weekend. Interested parties can give me a shout, I don’t really feel like spamming people and getting replies such as “too busy” or “I have better things to do”, or my favourite, being ignored, period.

Oh yes, and last weekend of May (27th and 28th), I’m moving to my new place. Any volunteers to help out would be appreciated, though I don’t think there’s *that* much stuff to move…
