Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

Photos: Rattlesnake Point

Since commiting to purchasing our indoor rockclimbing gear, we’ve been trying to go at least once a month.  It’s sometimes hard to schedule though, with the places we go being in downtown Toronto.  I find it fun enough, but I am weak with a short reach.  And I value my fingers, they ARE my livelihood after all.

Thus far, we’ve only done indoor stuff anyways.  I’m tempted to go outdoors (aka, “real” rockclimbing) one day, so I decided to check it out during a past weekend hike at Rattlesnake Point in Milton.  The biggest difference is the lack of articial handholds, obviously.

So this girl here, she was being instructed to just jam her fingers into the rock crack until it’s stuck and use that to pull herself up.  I’m sorry, but um, ouch?  Hehe, so we’ll see.

Rock Climbers

Photos are here.

Early spring prolly wasn’t the best time to go there, as everything is still dead and bare.  I can imagine fall to be really nice though.  Maybe this year…
