Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
I think it all started with an article I read somewhere on this, as it would never have occurred to me to google “asperagus pee” otherwise. I don’t normally have asparagus in my regular diet, so I suppose the odd times I did eat it, I’ve dismissed any smell I might have noticed. Until the article opened my senses.
Basically, shortly after eating asperagus, your pee will give off this funky sulphuric smell. The kicker is that not everyone can smell it! So for the longest time, people just assumed that some people produce this smell, and some people don’t. But no, it’s actually everyone produces this, but only SOME people can smell it.
The people I’ve told this to tend to look at me funny, saying they don’t smell their pee. Ha, believe me, if you can smell it, you can’t avoid NOT smelling it, unless you don’t breath through your nose every time you go.
But I tend to think that they just don’t notice, but now that they’ve been enlightened, I hope to find more gifted individuals like me.
Particularly disconcerting is that my parents claim to not notice anything strange either. Isn’t it genetic? My mom promised to check it out the next time she makes asparagus. (Which I hope is more often, she makes this very delicious asparagus, mushroom, and pig neck strip dish, which I will gladly eat even though it stinks up my pee for days)
So here are some links for your surfing pleasure:
Haha, yes, I’ve known about asparagus pee a very long time
Though usually it doesn’t make my pee stink for days, more like 2 pees and usually it’s flushed out by then (but I drink a lot more water than you do).
What I didn’t know was that only some people could smell it! That’s really cool.
So on the topic of pee smelling different ... do you find yours smells different if you eat a lot of onions? Or if you have breakfast cereal? (I find for some breakfast cereals the smell changes .. probably due to preservatives or something weird.) Much lighter difference in smell than compared with asparagus though.
Yeah, they said that the smell is strongest when you’re dehydrated.
Otherwise, no, I don’t think I notice a difference with other food. I tend to eat bran or bran-based cereal. None of those sugary stuff, yuck.
Even though I know it’s good for you and the smell is “natural” I’m a bit grossed out
. Then again I don’t eat the most balanced diet as a gamer. Probably need to eat this and put the bags of chips away for a week...and buy a clothespin for my gf
