Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
I’m so not prepared for the crazy summer weather we have this weekend. I remember last weekend being like -5 and freezing. How can it be 25+ just a week later? The weather forecast algorithms must be so confused; it is predicting negatives again for later this week. I was packing for the weekend and realized that all my short sleeves are still in storage. Mr B’s winter tires are gonna melt!
I think the Easter long weekend is probably my most under-used long. It’s usually too warm for winter stuff, but too cold for summer activities. This year, we managed to do a quick road trip and some summer activities before the weekend even started.
Mike got a raise recently, and decided to splurge on his wishlist. This was why we ended up driving 100km to like Kincardine on Thursday afternoon. There was this European appliance service/outlet place in this tiny town called Licknow where Mike finally picked up a wine cooler unit (thus ending a three year quest). And since we were nearly there, we continued all the way to the shores of Lake Huron, checked out a lighthouse, and then turned around and headed back to work…
On the way there, we passed by a Mennonite school that was letting out for the day. Kids were being picked up by cars and horse-drawn buggies. But quite a few of them were biking home. Man, those must be some healthy kids, as the farms out there are not exactly close together. It was also amusing to see them in their traditional clothing, but wearing colourful bike helmets.
The second item on Mike’s wishlist is a smartphone. He jumped on the Nexus One as soon as he heard that Google is finally shipping to Canada. Yes, you might be surprised to hear that the Apple fanboy got himself a Droid, but he prefers openness. The integration with Google is superslick. You start up the phone, put in your google login, and just like that, everything is synced. Gmail, Google Reader, Calendar, everything is synced without you doing anything. It even loaded his Picasa albums. As a big user of google apps myself, it sure is tempting…
