Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

Kids these days…

December 04, 2005, 7:58 am

So I was at Futureshop today and they had a iPod video loaded with music videos on display (player looks awesome, sigh sigh). There were two little brown kids looking at it, some 12 year old girl and her little 6 year old brother (or something like that, I’m not that good at telling kid’s ages, but they were young). The girl told her little brother he has to see this video, and put on Black Eyed Pea’s “My Humps”. So you have this little kid, barely tall enough to rest his chin on the counter, watching a music video of scantily dressed ladies grinding people and cars, telling the guys to check out their lovely lady lumps, with the sister singing along in the background. Man, it was scary. Do the kid even know what the song is about?? Hmm, so then I put on the uncensored version of Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty” to entertain them some more…

Oh, and apparently there’s one of those American-style outdoor box malls at Fisher Hallman and Hwy 7/8. Not bad, they even had a Starbucks!!

Sent to Lairon’s company holiday dinner as well, at Centro Restaurant & Lounge. Fine dining, formalwear, the usual. Maybe it’s a good thing to be working at a smaller company, then they can afford to bring everyone out to a fancy restaurant and have good food, instead of buffet-style meals. Four course meal, fancy drinks, yeah, it was better than MY company party. We somehow found ourselves sharing the table with the top execs, the owners and VP of IT. But they were all youngish (30’s), and fun, casual, friendly people. So it was fun, had a great time, even though dinner was supposed to start at 7, but we didn’t get around to being served the appetizer until 9, and then it was like 15 min between each course. Then sat around and chatted some more, waiting for the “after party”. But then everyone left, and only the table with all the exec people were still hanging around, so didn’t end up going to any fancy VIP lounges. That was at 1 am. I’m so full right now…
