Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

I Want My Hour Back!

April 02, 2006, 8:09 am

Daylight saving sucks. Just lost a valuable hour of sleep. Especially since it’s technically 4 am now and I’ll have to wake up early tomorrow (10-11) for dimsum and what not. Why am I up this late? Fixing bloody IE idiocy for work! And I still can’t get it to work. Prolly too tired. Sadly enough, someone else sent a mass email out at 3 am saying a bunch of new images are ready. Sad sad.

As for the maple syrup festival in Elmira, it was.. sort of boring. Tip that nobody bothered giving us was *not* to take hwy 85 up. Even though it’s the most direct route, it’s stop-and-go traffic as soon the highway ends. Better to detour around, the shorter route prolly being the east path up Northfield and whatever hwy number it becomes. It was freezing today, more so because everyone was too used to the warm spring weather we had all week, and showed up in shortsleeves and sandels. There were booths selling ice-cold lemonade to warm fleece shawls and gloves close together. The pancake was too sweet, and it was too cold to be eatiing them outdoors, even in a windproof tent. Didn’t even do the sugarbush tour because sitting in an exposed wagon and walking around for 1.5 hr wasn’t that appealing in our spring jackets…
