Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

HCI at UW??

April 27, 2006, 2:02 am

So after dinner, I went for a walk around the University, from the EIT, to DC, to MC. I’ve never been to the museum in EIT before, and haven’t really looked around the building much. It’s pretty nice inside. The displays are pretty interesting to read, but I really like the Great Lakes fountain on the main floor of the museum. That is cool. Then over to DC, which was all dark, and I walked by the CS prof hall leading to the DC-MC catwalk and there it was, posted on a door, the HCI Group of Waterloo. What the?? I feel so out of touch. And I also missed all the interesting Brown Bag lectures, such as an intro to HCI research topics. *Grumbles!* I’ve signed up to their mailing list at least, so hopefully they will have some more interesting upcoming lectures. Hmm, does UW offer part-time CS masters??
