Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
I’ve been waiting a long time for Google to release a calendar service. I’ve always enjoyed MS Outlook’s capabilities to set up meetings and reminders, but there was never a web service that offered this. Granted, I didn’t look that hard. I think I just don’t really care for a separate service that I’ll never end up checking, or a badly designed one. Usability and simplicity is a big deal for me, as well as integration with things I already use a lot.
Calendar is the next step in communication. I mean a big use of Gmail for me is to plan events with people, which is where the conversation organization comes in handy. Evite is a good idea, but I just can’t be bother to use it because it is such a standalone product that’s not integrated with my contact list. The Google Calendar is quite snazzy though, with a clean layout and lots of funky ajax features (which must have been a nightmare to customize to all browsers). Sort of the best parts of Outlook Calendar and Flickr editing. The “quick add” feature is just awesome.
There are some bugs at first, which they are pretty fast at fixing. Some ajax callback froze up my browser, and I can’t seem to be able to get notification. I get spammed every time someone changes their response to an invite, which they can do easily by just clicking randomly at the yes/no/maybe links. But since Gmail collapses all of those responses into one thread, deleting them is easy enough. Now if only more people will register for an account so I can move to using it for event invites! Sigh, this could have been a fun thing to work on as well…
