Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
Can’t believe how fast four weeks’ gone by. We have our final exams tomorrow morning, and leaving for our 7 week tour of Xi’an and Beijing on Sunday. Then it’s back to Canada. Sigh, I don’t feel ready to go back to work yet. I think I actually miss being in school.
I’m really surprised at how little free time I have here. I spend so much time before we left preparing things to do when I’m free, such as setting up a virtual machine for work, getting the first three seasons of Battlestar Galactica… Turns out I barely have time to check work email. This week was especially bad. Faced with the realization that this is our last week in Nanjing, Mike set out on a giant shopping spree for Chinese arts and craft. So we’ve pretty much been out everyday from noon to 7.
I need to go study now, so here’s a summary of the trip so far (I’ll hash out details later):
- Three-day tour to Suzhou, Zhouzhuang and Shanghai, Chinese tours are still not my favourite
- Three-day tour to Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), can’t walk normally for a few days afterwards
- Saw the Olympic torch relay through Nanjing, since they pass right in front of our hotel
