Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
Duchy had her superficial keratectomy surgery last Thursday to fix her indolent corneal ulcer (scratch on eye that’s not healing properly on its own), so she’s stuck with a cone collar for two weeks. Her eye better heal this time, or we are so screwed. Put my parents down over 1K, and interestingly enough, my dad’s Chinese horoscope for this week was something like “prepare to put down a sufficient sum to fix an unexpected problem”.
Mom said that the procedure went well enough, they had to leave her at the vet the whole day, and after her operation, she refused to get back into her cage, so they just let her wander around the operation room. Then, when my mom went to pick her up, Duchy didn’t greet her but insisted that they leave as soon as possible. She’s been acting all piteous and whiny since. The plastic collar is pretty funny. She kept rebounding off the walls with it on, and when she goes outside, she shovels snow around and bring some home in the collar. The first time the pigeon saw Duchy, he freaked out because he didn’t recognize this new animal with the big plastic head…
Duchy is also refusing to open her eye for her eyedrops, clutching the lid tight. We have to bribe her with food: by getting her to balance the scrape of meat on her nose. Then she opens her eye as wide as possible to stare at the meat so we can give her her drops. Now I think she refuses to open her eye on purpose just so she can get food.
As for my own health, I’m only experiencing only slight vertigo now, and very mild nausea. Mostly just a brief dizzyness when I lie down, and a headrush when I sit up. My sense of balance could use some work though.
