Tidbits

  • Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…

  • A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles.  I wanna play!

  • Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places.  2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.

  • A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…

  • An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies.  I smell a lawsuit.

  • Will trade beer for Crumpler bags.  Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…

DST?  It just works.

Another reason for liking my Mac.  Got back Sunday night, turned on the computer, and what do you know, the time is correct without me doing anything.  Opened up my Windows Parallel.  Time is wrong.  VPN-ed to work.  At least the time on my work computer is correct.  Except all of the meetings in Outlook is off, leading to much conflict and confusion for our limited supply of meeting rooms.  It’s Tuesday, and people are still cursing about how their Blackberry is not showing the right time.

People are saying that this daylight savings changed caused more problems than y2k.  I believe them.

I also tried Windows Vista at Costco today.  Was not impressed.

Microsoft would’ve said if you do the Windows Update for XP, DST would’ve changed correctly. But nothing about Outlook of course because there’s a separate Outlook fix, and an Exchange server fix, and Windows 2000 fix, and BlackBerry fix (which is just website with ActiveX)

IMO I think DST is still less problematic than Y2k. Think about it, how can 3 weeks worth of 1-hour off meetings destroy the world vs. 100 years of difference (1900 vs. 2000) rasberry

But yes, I’ve heard Outlook issues from 3-4 companies now where users still have to manually fix them

Vista, is so strange to use, but my soon-to-arrive desktop has Home Basic on it, might as well

Btw, your RSS feed URL style is messed up, try

Yeah, exactly, you need to get a fix for every piece of software.  Such a pain.  And then I think some people were complaining there was no fix for XP SP1, cause MS no longer support that!

I meant to say that this little DST changed caused more havoc than y2k.

I fixed the template for the feed.  I don’t know if google reader and such will pick it up though.  I haven’t gotten the new layout to update on my version.  Maybe I should blog something new.
