Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
Seems like I didn’t even get around to blogging about my last trip before I head off for my next one. I feel so patriotic! For Canada Day weekend, we are escaping to the States. Figured that heading to Ottawa, or Montreal would just be silly. I thought I might have to compete with Independence Day, but with it falling on the Wednesday, it seems like people are taking the weekend after as the long weekend? Or maybe it’s 50-50. Regardless, it shouldn’t be that bad.
So talk about last minute planning. I think I just ask for Tuesday off on Tuesday. At that time, I still did not know where I want to go, but figured might as well take the day off and work with it. I considered checking out Michigan, but there really isn’t anything to do there. Chicago seems interesting, but doesn’t seem like there’s enough time to drive there. There also isn’t enough time to fly anywhere worthwhile either, and there was no good last minute flight deals.
So I was just panning around on Google maps and hit upon this huge park in northern New York State. Adirondack Park. Apparently it’s as famous as Yosemite and Grand Canyon or something, but I’ve never heard of it. I can’t even pronounce it!
It’s where Lake Placid is, and people seemed to have heard of that. And I only recognize the name cause of the movie (hmm, I don’t really remember the movie, but I remember where I saw it, weird). But apparently they held two winter Olympics there. Go figure. They even have all these Olympic facilities and buildings. Montreal and Squaw Valley didn’t have those! I’m so gonna try the Biathlete shooting!
There’s also suppose to be some awesome hiking there, with elevation! We plan on doing a day hike to Algonquin Peak. Hopefully we are not being over-ambitious.
Though I think I should avoid any lake swimming… (I’ll blog about that later)
On the way back, hopefully we will stop by Buffalo for some shopping, and Cheesecake Factory!! Yeah, you always crave what you don’t have. I mean, I don’t even like it that much.
