A Day at the Car Show

Went to the last day of the Canadian International AutoShow on Sunday at the SkyDome-er Rogers Centre (*gag*) and the Metro Convention Centre. Everything was pretty much the same format as last year’s, only no ice maze (*awwww*). I’ve no real plans on getting a car this year either, only if I need to. My dream car should:

be bubbly,
come in orange,
hatch,
have aux jack for music players,
have power locks, windows, keyless entry,
have cruise control,
have climate control,
and most recently, have a nav system

As it stands right now, 7) sort of put the car into the price range that I don’t want to pay for (Audi A3). I guess I’m sort of flexible with the orange thing too, since it seemed to be a one year fad only, and all the cars this year dropped the colour (boo!). Hatch is also a bit flexible again, if the car is bubbly enough… So some cars of note:

Nissan Versa

My favourite of the bunch. MP3 CD player with aux jack and bluetooth hands-free phone system, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), all at 14K. The 2007 Sentra looks pretty sweet too..

Honda Fit

Youth-friendly audio system (MP3, WMA, Aux jack), funky blue-light dash like the new Civic. Seems to come in orange..

Toyota Yaris Hatchback

Too small for me, but it’s sooooo bubbly and cute!

Acura CSX

Has nav system and other fancy features. Something I would go for if I want an “above-entry” level car..

Toyota Camry Hybrid

The 2007 hybrid looks a lot better than before, much more sleek and stylish. Has nav system, full-loaded audio system, bluetooth, climate control.. And Mike’s favourite, plasmacluster ionizer technology in the ventilation system. Hehe, actually this is mostly Mike’s dream car, not mine..

At this point, I think I’m over my fondness for the Toyota Matrix and Mazda3. Especially the Mazda3. It’s getting rather old. When are they going to redesign it?? The Audi A3 still look as good as ever, but after sitting inside, I feel that I’m not ready for such a high class vehicle to be my first car. The Mercedes B-class is quite cute as well, but way out of my league. The Civic Si is also very nice, but not into sport cars. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder was also heavily promoted, but it didn’t make as much of an impression on me as the regular Eclipse last year.
