Sleepover at Ikea - Maybe this is the only way to get to the $1 early enough…
A ramen bath - Japanese spa with special baths resembling instant noodles. I wanna play!
Old age homes for dogs - 1) Old dogs don’t like to be abandoned at strange places. 2) Playing with young puppies will probably cause the older dogs to die faster due to exhaustion.
A remote-controlled pigeon - Oh the poor thing…
An article on a brilliant method of teaching grade schoolers about bats and rabies. I smell a lawsuit.
Will trade beer for Crumpler bags. Tempted by the beanbag and messenger bags…
We had one annoying winter this year, with snow followed by rain followed by snow. Really bad for skiing locally, so it seems rather odd that we went on the most ski trips this season. We didn’t luck out on any real powder days, but being outside with the sun and blue skies is not that shabby either.
Other than skiing, things have been pretty uneventful. Got some new furniture so have to rearrange our room. I did not know that a Queen-sized bed is actually longer than a Double, and that a Double can really just fit people under 5’5” comfortably. Lucky us I guess.
I’ve also been watching a lot of television lately. I’ve given up on most of the old shows I was following, and started watching a bunch of new ones. Burn Notice was unexpectedly entertaining and addictive. Lie to Me is also pretty good. The Mentalist, meh, not that great. Dollhouse is just okay, even though it has Joss Whedon’s style all over it, it doesn’t quite have that hook.
Another show I find myself liking recently is The Listener. The premise and everything is so cheesy, but it’s actually filmed and SET in Toronto. Shows and movies are filmed in Toronto all the time, but it’s always Toronto pretending to be somewhere else. This show though, actually takes place in Toronto. And they would make frequent references to familiar street names, cities, places (the “905 gang”, hehehe). I don’t know why that amuses me so much, I wonder if people who are from Miami or Vegas get the same kick when they are watching Dexter or CSI.
So took another ski holiday over the Valentine/Family Day long weekend. This time, we drove all the way to Quebec City. We left Friday morning and drove back Monday. Google map says it is 890 km from Waterloo and will take 9 hours to drive. I think we took…
Our second major ski trip this year was to Salt Lake City, from Jan 28 to Feb 2. We were not spared weather delays.
Our flight left Toronto on Wed, at 5 pm. A snow storm appeared out of nowhere the night before, and flights started being…
So somebody is complaining that I don’t blog enough. Ha, should I make that a NY resolution? I think it’s because I have a backlog of stuff to take down, and ended up not writing anything at all. At least I’ve kept sort of up to date with FB…
We turned the heater on today in the house. I think this means fall is over. We didn’t end up getting out of town either.
I think the Thanksgiving weekend was the best time for viewing fall colours. We did some driving to Woodstock, Stratford, and then…
